A message from our Sales Director: Euronics Derbyshire Group Meeting
Yesterday I attended the Euronics regional group meeting in Derbyshire with one of our Regional Sales Managers Simon Dawson.
There was a great turnout of the Euronics group members attending the meeting. During my presentation, I had the chance to speak to them about EPE and drive home our focus this year on how we are supporting our independent retailers and buying group members further; giving them a full insight into everything we can offer them, when they work with us.
Simon also delivered a great presentation about our products, the SDA market and how bringing quality, branded SDA to our customer base at the heart of what we do.
The overall environment was very open and positive and a number of the members were keen to schedule meetings with Simon to discuss working with us over the coming weeks.
I look forward to attending many more of the regional meetings across the UK in the coming months and meeting more of our buying group members.

EPE appoints new B2B Electrical Wholesalers Team Leader as part of growth initiative
EPE is pleased to announce the appointment of Debra Nichols as the new B2B Electrical Wholesalers Team Leader.
Debra’s role will centre around working directly as the main point of contact for Electrical Wholesaler customers. Focusing on building strong relationships with existing electrical wholesale customers and creating new connections within the Electrical Wholesaler field, making them aware of EPE and the benefits of working with us.
Debra’s appointment to this role is part of EPE’s growth initiative striving to continue building strong partnerships with our existing customers and building new connections as we make headway into growing as a business.

EPE appoints new Internal Key Accounts Team Leader as part of growth initiative
EPE is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Foley as the new Internal Key Accounts Team Leader.
Craig will be the the main point of contact internally for our Key Account customers. Focusing on continuing to grow existing business, maintaining good relations with our existing key account customers and finding new business opportunities for EPE.
Craig’s appointment to this role is part of EPE’s growth initiative striving to continue building strong partnerships with our existing customers and building new connections as we continue to make headway into growing as a business.

EPE’s Vicki Mitchell raises money for Macmillan Cancer Charity with Brave the Shave
Earlier this month, EPE’s Vicki Mitchell, Warehouse Operative participated in Brave the Shave to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer charity.
Vicki decided on Brave The Shave for the charity as a way to thank Macmillan for all they do to support, not only those suffering with cancer, but their families too. Vicki herself experienced the help the charity provides when her own family members had cancer and this helped drive her desire to give back and raise money for MacMillan through Brave the Shave.
Vicki raised over £375 for Macmillan through sponsors and we at EPE are happy to have supported her in raising money for such a well-deserving charity.

EPE would like to thank everyone who participated in our Do Good December, running all through out December. We wanted to give back to our customers and the community and you have all helped us to do so.
In total we raised £660 between the three of our nominated charities:

You helped us raise £260 for Age UK, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of older people in our communities.
Barnado’s
You helped us raise £240 for Barnado’s, a charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and empowering the voices of the young people to better their futures.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity
You helped us raise £160 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, a charity dedicated to treating childhood illnesses and supporting the families of those with sick children.
We would also like to congratulate once again the winners of our prize draws: Beric Appliances Cranbrook; Watson Home Hardware and Ian Black Domestic Appliances.

EPE’s looking towards a bigger, brighter future for the branded household goods market.
Recent statistics have shown the UK housewares market has risen significantly over the last decade going from £10.8 billion to £13.5 billion pounds by 2019. These figures are only set to rise and the future looks promising for the market with additional growth predicted to rise by another half a billion pounds by 2021.
This sector has grown considerably due to consumer spending on houseware goods increasing since 2017 with more demand for the products. In the UK, the average consumer purchases a mix of local and British made products and globally recognised brands; which as you know at EPE what we do best is bringing branded SDA to UK retailers and ultimately the British consumer. Leading in the market share for household goods were British companies Dunelm and John Lewis
In a survey of over 4000 respondents taken earlier this year of the most popular brands for household goods some big names made the cut. Coming in top of the list was Philips followed by Bosch, Tefal, Russell Hobbs and Kenwood.
At EPE we are feeling positive about the future of the household goods market going into 2020 and we hope to continue to build on the strong partnerships we have with our brands and supplying high quality branded SDA and providing a stellar service to our retailers.

EPE Congratulate Panasonic on winning at the ERT Awards 2019!
EPE’s Noel Pamment, Managing Director and Harry Singh, Operations and Finance Director congratulate their brand partners Panasonic for their win at the ERT Awards 2019.
Panasonic won Best New Product – Small Domestic Appliances for the their new slimline, combination microwave oven the NN-CD87 being top of the range. With features like the Genius Sensor that take the guesswork our of heating and cooking; One-Push reheating that instructs the Genius Sensor to calculate the exact reheating time and the Junior Menu programme which helps the user cook healthy meals for children.

EPE donates to The Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal
This year, in lieu of an office secret santa, the EPE team has decided to do some good for those in need and run a collection in the office for gifts for the The Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal.
The Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal helps to ensure a child who may not otherwise receive a gift, has a present to open at Christmas. The whole team got involved to bring in a whole host of presents, and putting them under our office Christmas tree to before they were taken to out local Salvation Army centre so they could wrap and distribute them before Christmas.
Along with this the team also collected unwanted, clean warm clothing, outer clothing and shoes to be donated to the local homeless shelter to help those who need it the most, especially at this time of year.

EPE get festive for Christmas Jumper Day to help Save the Children!
On Friday 13th December, the EPE team got out their cheesiest Christmas Jumpers and got festive for Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day!
The team really got in the spirit, with punny jumpers, light up jumpers and even the odd festive onesie. Together we raised £48 for the Save the Children.
We hope to continue supporting such worthy causes in the future. Keep your eyes peeled to see more ways we’ve been supporting charities this December.

EPE celebrating community spirit with Lawsons!
Community spirit is often a large part of the success of our independent retailers. Often residing in the heart of their communities, they benefit from having strong bonds and loyalty within their customer base.
One of such independent retailers is Lawsons in Devon; with four stores in Plymouth, Totnes, Tavistock and Ivybridge.
Liz Lawson, Managing Director, Lawsons celebrated 25 years of service this year at the family business; she spoke to Bira Membership Magazine this month to discuss how business has changed in the last few years and how they have adapted to new needs of their ever changing consumer base.
On catering to customers in her community she states:
“Ever since my great-grandfather Tom Lawson opened a tool shop in Plymouth in 1904, Lawsons has always been bout listening closely to customers and what they want. Last year we revisited our business purpose and concluded we exist for our communities, help local people create beautiful homes”
